Summer Nights

Hanging out
Our new puppy, "Max"
Jack and "Max"

Painting for Papa
"Mommy, you can sit by me if you don't bug me."

The last couple nights, after Ainsley has gone to bed, Kev and I have gotten a chance to enjoy some "Vance time". Last night we sat outside and watched as Vance romped around mimicking our dog, Jack. It was quite funny when he pretended to mark is territiory while walking around on all fours and yipping like a dog. Eventually he took to eating plants as Jack sometimes does when he has an upset stomach - lovely. In the process of playing, we also got to catch a very pretty sunset.

Tonight I broke out my long neglected paints and let Vance go to town creating a masterpiece out of an unfinished frame to give to his Papa for a late Father's Day gift. He is a kid after his mother's heart, no doubt. He spent over 40 minutes paiting that frame and would have gone longer if I'd let him. I think he and I eventually realized that continuing the project meant delaying bedtime. What he doesn't realize is, I wasn't born yesterday!
