My friend, Aimee, had never really been camping, and so, on a whim asked us if we wanted to go. I set up reservations for us at Dogwood Campground, and we all trooped up for the weekend and showed Aimee how it's done! The kids had a great time. Vance and Caleb especially loved digging in the dirt and exploring. Ainsley couldn't get enough dirt! She would cover herself in it every chance she got. On Saturday, Andrew and Kev took the big boys fishing. Kev was amazed at how willing to wait for a fish Vance was, and a little nervous that they'd be there all day since the dads had opted out of using hooks and bait! When they got back, we all went up to Lake Arrowhead to look around. (We also cheated a little and got McDonald's for lunch!) Then it was back to the campsite for more dirt and fun. And despite the heat, we did have a fire (what's camping without one?), and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. It was all over way too soon, but as always after camping, the shower sure felt good!
