The Garton family has once again picked up the tradition of Palm Springs for the 4th. This is our second trip in so many years, and same as last year, we had a great (if not incredibly hot!) time. Everyone but for the Borning bunch stayed at the Chase Hotel (though in reality it's a motel). It's a cool, 50's-style retro place, with a nice (though plain) pool. And the pool is definitely the place to be! It was a fun time hanging with the family. Playing shuffle board, smoking cigars (yuck!), and eating, and eating and drinking and eating... The only member missing was cousin Kylee, who is currently a woman of the world. Saturday night we went to a Mexican restaurant with Brooke, Matt and Jase and had a fun time watching the kids dance away. Then it was back to the hotel/motel for firework watching (from a very far distance). Once again another very fun, though all too short weekend. Happy 4th!
